2023 Wine Dog Calendar Contest

Apolloni Vineyards in partnership with Kim Hoshal Photography are proud to announce our Oregon Humane Society fundraising event, the 2023 Wine Dog Calendar Contest

100% of the proceeds from this photo contest and sales of the calendar will go to benefit the Oregon Humane Society

Submit your favorite photo of your dog and then get your friends and family to vote for your dog

As the largest humane society in the Northwest, the Oregon Humane Society adopts more animals from its Portland shelter than any other single-facility shelter on the West Coast. OHS puts no time limits on how long animals remain at the shelter—a pet stays available for adoption for as long as needed to find a loving home.

· OHS finds homes for more than 11,000 pets each year

· The OHS medical team provides free and low-cost spay and neuter surgeries for thousands of pets owned by low-income families

· OHS educators reach more than 12,000 youths and about 2,000 adults annually through humane education programs

· The OHS Second Chance program brings more than 8,000 pets to OHS from other shelters around the region every year

· In the state capitol, OHS is the driving force behind efforts to improve laws that protect animals and punish offenders

EACH WEEK THE TOP DOG WITH THE MOST NEW VOTES WILL WIN A MINI-CONTEST PRIZE PACKAGE WITH PRODUCTS KINDLY DONATED BY OUR BUSINESS PARTNERS

The winners of local prizes will be determined by the number of NEW votes received during the week. Local prizes are redeemed at the place of donating business. In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the most voted dogs of the week to determine that week's winner. In case there are no new votes that week, a random computerized draw will be held between all eligible dogs.

Week one prize:
This week's Dining Out themed prize includes a $40 gift card from Tin Shed, an Oregon Humane Society collapsible Kurgo Water Bowl, a Pup Passport, a Brew Pup pack, and a $25 gift card from Pet Wants Pearl District, a prize pack from Mcmenamin's 23rd Ave Bottle Shop ($50 gift card, 2 McMenamins pint glasses and 4-pack of McMenamins beer or cider), OHS Beanie, and a waste bag holder and $50 gift card from Upper Paw PDX. The entry with the most votes on March 26th, 8 p.m. PDT wins!

Week two prize:
This week's Hanging Out at Home themed prize includes 3 Dog Enterprises Nose-N-Nibble snuffle mat, Clyde Dog 5-pack of treats, 2 Muttloafs from Fetch, Woven Wool Dog Bed from Iggynono, Oregon Humane Society glass treat jar, Oregon Humane Society hardcover OHS History Book, and a $15 gift card from Pistils for a dog-friendly plant. An outdoor session in May through July at a mutually agreed location and time. Some travel to the photography location may be required. *

All winners will have the opportunity to purchase artwork and images following their calendar photography session if desired.

*If you are unable to commit to a session in May through July, you will forfeit your winning and the next top-voted dog will take your dog’s spot in the calendar.

Contest Rules

ENTRIES:

To enter, submit a photograph of your dog AND $5 donation to the Oregon Humane Society.

Limit of THREE dogs of the same family per photo entry. No people are allowed in entry photographs. Entry photographs that include two dogs will share a month if they place among the top 13 vote-getters.
Entries must be living dogs to be eligible to win. In Memoriam, photos are welcomed in one of the available Grid Spaces with a $15 donation (limited number available each month).
The dog entered in the competition must be from the Portland metro area.
Photos that do not follow these rules will NOT be eligible to win.
All donations from entries are non-refundable.
All entry photos must be uploaded through the competition software. We cannot accept printed photos. The entry photograph must be taken by you. We do not accept any copyrighted or professional photos.
The submission period starts on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 at 8 am PDT and ends on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 at 8 pm PDT.
Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by Kim Hoshal Photography, in their sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with NO opportunity for a refund.
Each dog may enter only once. Posting more than one photo of your dog(s) does not increase the chances of winning as only one photo will be permitted.
The 13 Grand Prize winners of the photo contest will be determined by the received number of votes.
The five weekly mini-competitions run from Sunday 8 am PDT to Saturday 8 pm PDT each week.

VOTING:

Each $1 counts as one (1) vote. A minimum donation of $5 for 5 votes.
All donations from voting are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page. Contest payments online are through a secure site.
Contest votes are tax-deductible. The email acknowledgment of your online donation serves as your tax receipt.
All winners will be determined by electronic vote tabulations under the supervision of
GoGo Photo Contest, whose decisions are final and binding.
The Voting Period starts on Sunday, March 20th, 2022 8am PDT and ends on Sunday, April 24th, 2022 8pm PDT.

CALENDAR PHOTO SESSIONS:

The 13 dogs with the most votes will win a professional photography session with Kim Hoshal Photography. The sessions will take place from May through July 2022 at a mutually agreed location in the Portland metro area. Some travel to the photography location may be required. If you are unable to commit to a session from August to October, you forfeit your winning and the next top-voted dog will take your dog’s spot in the calendar, no exceptions.
The photographer, Kim Hoshal Photography, will choose the best image of each dog to be used in the calendar as well as which month that image will appear.

WEEKLY MINI-CONTESTS:

Each week of the 5-week contest the dog with the most NEW votes will win a mini-contest prize package donated by one of our local sponsors.
The weekly mini-contests run from Sunday 8 am PDT to Saturday 8pm PDT.
In the event of a tie, a random computerized draw will be held between the highest vote-getters of the week to determine that week’s winner.
In case there are no new votes for that week, a random computerized draw will be held for all eligible dogs.
Certain individual business restrictions and limitations may apply and may vary by business. Kim Hoshal Photography is not responsible for these restrictions and eligibility requirements as determined by each business.

PRIZES:

The winners will be contacted AFTER the contest, starting in the last week in April 2022.

By submitting a photo entry, you warrant and represent that your entry is your own original work created by you and that you own or otherwise control all the rights to your entry materials. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.

By participating in the Contest, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Apolloni Vineyards, Kim Hoshal Photography, and each of their respective officers, directors, representatives, volunteers, and agents (the Released Parties) from and against any claims of any nature arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use of any prize.
